These aldose reductase ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring specific protein levels in biological samples. aldose reductase is an alias of the human AKR1B1 gene, which encodes the protein, aldo-keto reductase family 1 member B. Notably, aldose reductase is known to play a role in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and the regulation of apoptosis, among other functions. The AKR1B1 protein is described to be 316 amino acid residues in length and 35.9 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be highly expressed in embryonic epithelial cells (EUE) in response to osmotic stress. Other names for this target antigen include ADR, ALDR1, and ALR2.
There are aldose reductase ELISA kits that can detect a target at concentrations as low as 15.6 pg/mL and as high as 40 ng/mL. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
