This protein is 510 amino acids long, with a mass of 54.6 kDa, and is a member of the Class-II fumarase/aspartase family, Fumarase subfamily. 2 isoforms have been identified. This is reported to be a cytoplasmic, nuclear and mitochondrial protein. There is a noted implication in Fumarase deficiency.
