LRP12 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein LDL receptor related protein 12, which is encoded by the LRP12 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a suspected receptor, which may be involved in the internalization of lipophilic molecules and/or signal transduction. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 859 residues, a mass of 95 kDa, and is a member of the LDLR protein family. It is known to be localized in the membrane and is found to be widely expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, brain, lung, placenta and pancreas, but not in tissues consisting of a large number of epithelial cells, such as liver and kidney. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. The LRP12 gene has been associated with the disease, Oculopharyngodistal myopathy. Other alias names for this target include ST7, low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 12, LDLR-related protein 12, suppressor of tumorigenicity 7 protein, and MIG13A.
