The following catenin delta 1 ELISA kits are useful research tools for the measurement of catenin delta 1 in biological samples. In humans this protein is encoded by the CTNND1 gene. This protein is a reported key regulator of cell-cell adhesion that associates with and regulates the cell adhesion properties of both C-, E- and N-cadherins, being critical for their surface stability. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 968 residues, a mass of 108.2 kDa, and is a member of the Beta-catenin protein family. Its subcellular location is known to be in the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm. In addition, it is reported to be expressed in vascular endothelium. In certain instances, it is also post-translationally phosphorylated. The gene encoding this protein has been associated with the disease, Blepharocheilodontic syndrome. This protein may also be known as BCDS2 and CAS.
The detection range for different catenin delta 1 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 20 ng/L and as high as 10 ng/mL.
