These SCD1 ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of SCD1 in biological samples. SCD1 is an alias of the human SCD gene, which encodes the protein, stearoyl-CoA desaturase. The protein is reported to be a Stearoyl-CoA desaturase that utilizes O(2) and electrons from reduced cytochrome b5 to introduce the first double bond into saturated fatty acyl-CoA substrates. The SCD protein is described to be 359 amino acid residues in length and 41.5 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the ER of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is notably expressed in fetal liver, lung and brain. Other names for this target antigen include FADS5 and MSTP008.
Some SCD1 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 15 ng/L and as high as 100 ng/mL. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
