ADHFE1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein alcohol dehydrogenase iron containing 1, which is encoded by the ADHFE1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the cofactor-independent reversible oxidation of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) to succinic semialdehyde (SSA) coupled to reduction of 2-ketoglutarate (2-KG) to D-2-hydroxyglutarate (D-2-HG). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 467 residues, a mass of 50.3 kDa, and is a member of the Iron-containing alcohol dehydrogenase protein family. It is known to be localized in the mitochondria and is notably expressed in adult liver. As many as 4 protein isoforms have been reported. Other alias names for this target include Fe-containing alcohol dehydrogenase 1, alcohol dehydrogenase 8, alcohol dehydrogenase iron-containing protein 1, and hydroxyacid-oxoacid transhydrogenase, mitochondrial.
Some Adhfe1 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 0.156 ng/mL and as high as 10 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
