TAS2R38 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein taste 2 receptor member 38, which is encoded by the TAS2R38 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a known receptor that may play a role in the perception of bitterness and is gustducin-linked. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 333 residues, a mass of 37.9 kDa, and is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor T2R protein family. It is known to be localized in the membrane and is reported to be expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. Other alias names for this target include T2R38, T2R61, THIOT, taste receptor type 2 member 38, PTC bitter taste receptor, and PTC.
Some TAS2R38 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 20 ng/L and as high as 40 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
