Inhibin A ELISA kits are assays designed to detect the protein complex inhibin A. A member of the transforming growth factor β family, it is composed of alpha and beta A dimer subunits. Inhibin A is involved in the negative regulation of follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) by the anterior pituitary. In females, inhibin A is produced by the follicles and corpus luteum. Elevated levels of inhibin A could be indicative of preeclampsia and, in the second trimester of pregnancy, could indicate a foetus with Down’s syndrome. It is also used as a marker for ovarian cancer. Visit the supplier page for more information about detection range, target, and reactivity.
