The Delta-9-Desaturase ELISA kits listed below utilize specific antibodies for the plate-based assay of Delta-9-Desaturase in various samples. Delta-9-Desaturase is another term for the SCD gene, which encodes the protein, stearoyl-CoA desaturase in humans. The target protein is reported to be a Stearoyl-CoA desaturase that utilizes O(2) and electrons from reduced cytochrome b5 to introduce the first double bond into saturated fatty acyl-CoA substrates. Structurally, the SCD protein is described to be 359 amino acid residues in length and 41.5 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the ER of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is notably expressed in fetal liver, lung and brain. Other names for this target antigen include FADS5, MSTP008, and SCD1.
Some Delta-9-Desaturase ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 31.2 pg/mL and as high as 2000 pg/mL. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
