AMA-M2 ELISA kits are assays designed to detect the M2 type of antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA). Antimicrobial antibodies are autoantibodies formed against mitochondria, mainly in the liver. The presence of AMAs is an indicator of the autoimmune disease primary biliary cirrhosis, an inflammatory disorder of the small and medium bile ducts.
