Anti-APOBEC3C antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein apolipoprotein B mRNA editing enzyme catalytic subunit 3C. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 190 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is reported to be expressed in spleen, testes, peripherical blood lymphocytes, heart, thymus, prostate and ovary. A member of the Cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase protein family, APOBEC3C is known to be involved with innate immune responses. Synonyms for this target antigen include APOBEC1L, ARDC2, ARDC4, ARP5, PBI, bK150C2.3, DNA dC->dU-editing enzyme APOBEC-3C, and A3C. A number of APOBEC3C antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
