Anti-AEG-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target AEG-1 is a known alias name of the protein metadherin, encoded by the MTDH gene in humans. This 582-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the regulation of apoptosis and the regulation of transcription, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus, ER, and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Indicated applications for AEG-1 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, and Immunohistochemistry.
