Anti-p23 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target p23 is a known alias name of the protein prostaglandin E synthase 3, encoded by the PTGES3 gene in humans. This 160-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in protein folding, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features cleaved post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
