Anti-NSE antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene ENO2, or 'enolase 2' in humans. The 434-amino acid protein is a member of the Enolase family and the NSE antigen is a documented cancer marker. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic and membrane-associated.
