Anti-FADS6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein fatty acid desaturase 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 356 amino acid residues and a mass of 40.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Fatty acid desaturase type 1 protein family, FADS6 is known to be involved with the metabolism of lipids. Synonyms for this target antigen include fatty acid desaturase domain family, member 6. FADS6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the FADS6 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
