Anti-CKII antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CKII antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CSNK2A1 gene, which encodes casein kinase 2 alpha 1. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and the cell cycle, among other biological roles. The human version of CKII has a canonical amino acid length of 391 residues and a protein mass of 45.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include CK2A1 and Cka1. Some CKII antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
