Anti-NEIL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein nei like DNA glycosylase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 390 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the FPG protein family, NEIL1 is known to be involved in base excision repair of DNA damaged by oxidation or by mutagenic agents. Synonyms for this target antigen include DNA endonuclease eight-like glycosylase 1, DNA glycosylase/AP lyase Neil1, DNA-(apurinic or apyrimidinic site) lyase Neil1, NEH1, endonuclease VIII, and endonuclease 8-like 1. NEIL1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of NEIL1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
