Anti-MGAT3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein beta-1,4-mannosyl-glycoprotein 4-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 533 amino acid residues and a mass of 61.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the golgi. A member of a the Glycosyltransferase 17 protein family, MGAT3 is known to be involved in the regulation of the biosynthesis and biological function of glycoprotein oligosaccharides. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include GNT3, GlcNAc-T III, N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase III, N-glycosyl-oligosaccharide-glycoprotein N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase III, and GNT-III.
