Anti-TMEM249 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 249. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 235 amino acid residues and a mass of 27 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell projections. It is notably expressed in the testis. TMEM249 is reported to be an auxiliary component of the CatSper complex, a complex involved in sperm cell hyperactivation. Synonyms for this target antigen include cation channel sperm-associated auxiliary subunit TMEM249 and putative transmembrane protein C8orfK29. TMEM249 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Immunofluorescence is a widely used application for the TMEM249 antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunocytochemistry is also a common application.
