Anti-MEIOB antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein meiosis specific with OB-fold. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 442 amino acid residues and a mass of 49.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the MEIOB protein family, MEIOB is known to be involved with DNA repair. The MEIOB gene has been associated with the disease, Spermatogenic failure. Synonyms for this target antigen include meiosis-specific with OB domain-containing protein and meiosis specific with OB domains. MEIOB gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. These MEIOB antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
