Anti-GPX6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein glutathione peroxidase 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 221 amino acid residues and a mass of 25 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is reported to be expressed in olfactory epithelium and embryos. A member of the Glutathione peroxidase protein family, GPX6 is known to be involved with the response to oxidative stress. Synonyms for this target antigen include glutathione peroxidase 6 (olfactory) and selenoprotein GPX6. GPX6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Western Blot is the most common application for the GPX6 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
