Anti-FOCAD antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein focadhesin. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1801 amino acid residues and a mass of 200.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell junctions and cytoplasm. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. FOCAD is known to be required for the maintenance of SKIC2 and SKIC3 proteostatic levels in the liver. The FOCAD gene has been associated with the disease, Liver disease. Synonyms for this target antigen include KIAA1797 and SCOLIV. FOCAD gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some FOCAD antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunocytochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
