Anti-Fibromodulin antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the FMOD gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 376 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and is also secreted. The fibromodulin protein is a member of the Small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include SLRR2E, KSPG fibromodulin, collagen-binding 59 kDa protein, epididymis secretory sperm binding protein, keratan sulfate proteoglycan fibromodulin, and FM.
