Anti-SLC22A1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 22 member 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 554 amino acid residues and a mass of 61.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be widely expressed with high level in the liver. A member of the Organic cation transporter (TC 2.A.1.19) protein family, SLC22A1 is known to be involved with the transport of ions. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation and glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include oct1_cds, organic cation transporter 1, solute carrier family 22 (organic cation transporter), member 1, and HOCT1. SLC22A1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species.
