Anti-UXT antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ubiquitously expressed prefoldin like chaperone. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 157 amino acid residues and a mass of 18.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of a the UXT protein family, UXT is known to be involved in gene transcription regulation. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination. Synonyms for this target antigen include SKP2, STAP1, protein UXT, SKP2-associated alpha PFD 1, androgen receptor trapped clone 27 protein, and ART-27.
