Anti-MGST1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein microsomal glutathione S-transferase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 155 amino acid residues and a mass of 17.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and ER. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the liver. It is a member of the MAPEG protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include MGST, MGST-I, PMAN, glutathione S-transferase 12, microsomal GST-1, and GST12. MGST1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 50 citations in the literature describe the use of MGST1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
