Anti-GALK2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein galactokinase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 458 amino acid residues and a mass of 50.4 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the GHMP kinase protein family, GALK2 is known to act on GalNAc. Synonyms for this target antigen include N-acetylgalactosamine kinase, galNAc kinase, and GK2. GALK2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the GALK2 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
