Anti-FABP3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein fatty acid binding protein 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 133 amino acid residues and a mass of 14.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in the heart muscle and kidney. A member of the Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) protein family, FABP3 is known to be involved with brown fat cell differentiation and cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis. Synonyms for this target antigen include H-FABP, M-FABP, MDGI, O-FABP, fatty acid-binding protein, heart, and FABP11. FABP3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of FABP3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
