Anti-WDR18 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein WD repeat domain 18. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 432 amino acid residues and a mass of 47.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the WD repeat IPI3/WDR18 protein family, WDR18 is known to function as a component of the Five Friends of Methylated CHTOP (5FMC) complex; the 5FMC complex is recruited to ZNF148 by methylated CHTOP, leading to desumoylation of ZNF148 and subsequent transactivation of ZNF148 target genes. Synonyms for this target antigen include WD repeat-containing protein 18 and Involved in Processing ITS2 3 homolog. WDR18 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some WDR18 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
