Anti-SHC2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein SHC adaptor protein 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 582 amino acid residues and a mass of 61.9 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in the brain. SHC2 is reported to be a signaling adapter that couples activated growth factor receptors to signaling pathway in neurons. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include SHCB, SLI, SHC-transforming protein 2, SH2 domain protein C2, SHC (Src homology 2 domain containing) transforming protein 2, and SCK. SHC2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the SHC2 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
