Anti-CENPL antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein centromere protein L. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 344 amino acid residues and a mass of 39 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the CENP-L/IML3 protein family, CENPL is a known component of the CENPA-CAD (nucleosome distal) complex, a complex recruited to centromeres which is involved in assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation. Synonyms for this target antigen include interphase centromere complex protein 33. CENPL gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some CENPL antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
