Anti-BAL antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BAL antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CEL gene, which encodes carboxyl ester lipase. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of BAL has a canonical amino acid length of 753 residues and a protein mass of 79.3 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the stomach, pancreas, and lactating breast. BAL is a member of the Type-B carboxylesterase/lipase protein family. Indicated applications for BAL antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
