Anti-TXK antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein TXK tyrosine kinase. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 527 amino acid residues and a mass of 61.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm. It is reported to be expressed in T-cells and some myeloid cell lines. A member of the Tyr protein kinase protein family, TXK is a type of non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a redundant role with ITK in regulation of the adaptive immune response. Post-translational modifications have been described, including palmitoylation and phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PSCTK5, PTK4, RLK, TKL, tyrosine-protein kinase TXK, and BTKL. TXK gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TXK antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
