Anti-SHARP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SHARP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SPEN gene, which encodes spen family transcriptional repressor. This protein is known to function in the regulation of transcription and the Notch signaling pathway, among other biological roles. The human version of SHARP has a canonical amino acid length of 3664 residues and a protein mass of 402.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include HIAA0929, MINT, and RATARS.
