Anti-TTS-2.2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TTS-2.2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PNPLA2 gene, which encodes patatin like phospholipase domain containing 2. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of TTS-2.2 has a canonical amino acid length of 504 residues and a protein mass of 55.3 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 2, IPLA2-zeta, and TTS2.2.
