Anti-VLA1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target VLA1 is a known alias name of the protein integrin subunit alpha 1, encoded by the ITGA1 gene in humans. This 1179-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell adhesion and cell matrix adhesion, among other biological processes. It is localized to the membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for VLA1 include CD49a and integrin alpha-1. ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for VLA1 antibodies.
