Anti-SNAIL1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SNAIL1 is a known alias name of the protein snail family transcriptional repressor 1, encoded by the SNAI1 gene in humans. This 264-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in induction of the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), formation and maintenance of embryonic mesoderm, growth arrest, survival and cell migration. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features glycosylated, ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in a variety of tissues with the highest expression in the kidney. Other synonyms for SNAIL1 include SLUGH2, SNA, and SNAH. Western Blot is the most common application for the SNAIL1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
