Anti-SCS7 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SCS7 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FA2H gene, which encodes fatty acid 2-hydroxylase. This protein is known to function in fatty acid metabolism, among other biological roles. The human version of SCS7 has a canonical amino acid length of 372 residues and a protein mass of 42.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and notably expressed in the skin, pancreas, lung, esophagus, and duodenum. SCS7 is a member of the Sterol desaturase protein family. Western Blot is the most common application for the SCS7 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
