Anti-SIAT2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SIAT2 is a known alias name of the protein ST6 beta-galactoside alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 2, encoded by the ST6GAL2 gene in humans. This 529-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in protein glycosylation, among other biological processes. It is localized to the Golgi of the cell and features O-glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be weakly expressed in some tissues, such as small intestine, colon and fetal brain.
