Anti-STORP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target STORP is a known alias name of the protein stomatin like 1, encoded by the STOML1 gene in humans. This 398-amino acid residue protein is believed to play a role in cholesterol transfer to late endosomes. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and cell membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is found to be widely expressed at low levels. Other synonyms for STORP include SLP-1 and hUNC-24.
