Anti-Scara4 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Scara4 is a known alias name of the protein collectin subfamily member 12, encoded by the COLEC12 gene in humans. This 742-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a scavenger receptor that displays several functions associated with host defense. It is localized to the membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in perivascular macrophages.
