Anti-TIM8 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target TIM8 is a known alias name of the protein translocase of inner mitochondrial membrane 8A, encoded by the TIMM8A gene in humans. This 97-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in nervous system development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in fetal and adult brain, followed by fetal lung, liver and kidney. Other synonyms for TIM8 include DDP, DDP, and DDP1. Western Blot is a widely used application for the TIM8 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
