Anti-terf antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the terf antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TRIM17 gene, which encodes tripartite motif containing 17. This protein is known to function in autophagy pathways and protein ubiquitination, among other biological roles. The human version of terf has a canonical amino acid length of 477 residues and a protein mass of 54.4 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the lysosomes and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include RBCC and RNF16.
