Anti-SERT1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The SERT1 antigen is another term for the human protein solute carrier family 6 member 4, encoded by the SLC6A4 gene. The protein is known to function in neuronal differentiation, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 630 residues and a mass of 70.3 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and it is reported to be expressed in platelets. The SERT1 protein is a member of the Sodium:neurotransmitter symporter (SNF) (TC 2.A.22) protein family. Other alias names for SERT1 include 5-HTT, 5-HTT, and 5-HTTLPR. Some SERT1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
