Anti-SEC16L antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SEC16L is a known alias name of the protein SEC16 homolog A, endoplasmic reticulum export factor, encoded by the SEC16A gene in humans. This 2357-amino acid residue protein is known to act as a molecular scaffold that plays a key role in the organization of the endoplasmic reticulum exit sites (ERES), also known as transitional endoplasmic reticulum (tER). It is localized to the ER, Golgi, and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. The term KIAA0310 is another synonym for SEC16L.
