Anti-SHN2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SHN2 is a known alias name of the protein HIVEP zinc finger 2, encoded by the HIVEP2 gene in humans. This 2446-amino acid residue protein is known to specifically binds to the DNA sequence 5'-GGGACTTTCC-3' which is found in the enhancer elements of numerous viral promoters such as those of SV40, CMV, or HIV1. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the brain and skeletal muscle. Other synonyms for SHN2 include MBP-2, MIBP1, and MRD43. Indicated applications for SHN2 antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
