Anti-SHEP4 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SHEP4 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SLC24A5 gene, which encodes solute carrier family 24 member 5. This protein is known to function in the regulation of intracellular calcium and melanocyte differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of SHEP4 has a canonical amino acid length of 500 residues and a protein mass of 54.9 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi of cells. SHEP4 is a member of the Ca(2+):cation antiporter (CaCA) (TC 2.A.19) protein family.
