Anti-PTBP3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein polypyrimidine tract binding protein 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 552 amino acid residues and a mass of 59.7 kDa. Up to 7 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in several hematopoietic cell lines examined. PTBP3 is reported to be a RNA-binding protein that mediates pre-mRNA alternative splicing regulation. Synonyms for this target antigen include ROD1 regulator of differentiation 1, fission yeast differentiation regulator, regulator of differentiation 1, and ROD1. PTBP3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of Ptbp3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
