Anti-PPMX antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PPMX is a known alias name of the protein methyl-CpG binding protein 2, encoded by the MECP2 gene in humans. This 486-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a chromosomal protein that binds to methylated DNA. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for PPMX include AUTSX3, MRX16, and MRX79. Some PPMX antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
