Anti-RM antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target RM is a known alias name of the protein alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase, encoded by the AMACR gene in humans. This 382-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the interconversion of (R)- and (S)-stereoisomers of alpha-methyl-branched-chain fatty acyl-CoA esters. It is localized to the peroxisomes and mitochondria of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in the liver, kidney, colon, cerebellum, and bronchus. Other synonyms for RM include AMACRD, CBAS4, and P504S. Western Blot is a widely used application for the RM antibodies listed below. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
